I have a 03 Escalade and the drivers side seats are starting to crack (I just got it a few weeks back). I applied Leatherique over the weekend and it looks a bit better, but I am concerned that over time the seats will continue to crack and look bad.

Any suggestions? I have seen this same problem on a lot of GM SUV seats.

it'll happen no matter what. every leather seat that gets used often will start to fade and crack. just keep it conditioned and hope it doesn't deteriorate too quickly.

No s**t... I have the same problem. The drivers seat in my 02 really looks bad, and I applied a lot of leather cleaner a moisturiser to it since the truck was new. I asked the dealer and they have allways been great to me, but they said that it was just normal wear and tear and not covered under warranty. It's only the seats bottom but it still looks bad, it could be do to the hot summers and very cold winters here (cleveland). Anyhow it sucks but there isn't much you can do.

if you really wanted the leather to stay looking new, you'd have to change how you enter and exit the vehicle. no sliding in/out or pivoting on the seat, just in and straight down/straight up and out.

Keep in mind what leather is... animal skin. It has to be kept clean and conditioned in order to prolong it's life. Eventually ALL leather will crack, fade, and distress due to use and age.

Exactly... I always remind foolz to not slide off my seats. Just take an extra second to step off rather than slide.

:yeah: I agree with you totally, but why do people act like your asking them to do a backflip instead of sliding off the seats. I tell them there's a very expensive option called a running board and that is why they get handles. My truck is an 02 w 35k miles and it seems that there is more wear in the last month I have had it then there was in the last 4 yrs.

Even though they have some nice cars i'm starting to think they're jealous (bastards :lildevil: ).
