Well I don't if you have heard or not but Kobe has been charge with felony sexual assault read up a little here on it http://www.msnbc.com/news/939560.asp if found guilty he can be charge from 4 years to life in prision or probation for 20 years to life. They say penetration is envolved so it basically a rape case. I believe he is innocent, but we will have to wait and see.Me being from the LA area and a Laker fan this is a serious matter, what are you guys feeling to this subject?

First....Who cares? It's his problem! If he's guilty he should get the max. If not....I personally think that most of these sports types are tryin' a little to hard to be badasses and then snivel and whine when they get caught that they're special and should be treated differently than you or I would. Let's see what happens.

My,..... or, rather, Neil Boortz, $0.02ON KOBE BRYANT

Los Angeles Laker basketball player Kobe Bryant has been charged felony sexual assault. This could be the end of his professional basketball career. It will almost certainly mean great monetary damage .. the loss of endorsements, etc.

I will draw on my experiences representing athletes as an attorney to share some thoughts with you. Kobe Bryant is an athlete. This means that he is a target. After virtually every NBA basketball game you will find women hovering around arena exits who are willing to throw themselves into bed with almost any athlete that walks out of that door. Some of these women just want another notch on their garter belt. Some of them are looking for something more; they're looking for money. Lots of money. Their intention is to lie about birth control and have unprotected sex with the hope of getting pregnant. They know that having the child of a wealthy athlete is a guarantee of easy street for at least 18 years. No work, nice house, nice cars .. the works. Sound harsh? Trust me, these women are out there. The large brain of every athlete is aware of this fact. Disaster happens when they let the small head do the thinking for the large head. They've been warned, but the testosterone level is almost as high as that hoop. Go have yourself a good time, then get out your checkbook.

The women who are merely looking for bragging rights of sex with a top athlete present another danger. That danger comes from the possibility of feelings of regret and humiliation, even fear. The danger is prison.

We have a case in Georgia right now where a high school athlete has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the rape of a classmate. I've studied the case, and I believe him to be innocent. The athlete is black, his victim was a white girl. I believe that somehow the girl's parents found out about an episode of consensual sex between the two, or at least the girl worried that this was about to happen. She was scared to death that her parents were going to find that she had been dating a young black man. Her solution? Claim she was raped. This black kid raped her. She then, in my opinion, stood back and watched this kid go off to 15 years in prison because she didn't want her parents and friends to find out the truth.

Kobe Bryant is accused of rape in Eagle County, Colorado. Eagle County is not exactly a black Mecca. I don't know if it has been stated one way or the other, but I suspect Kobe Bryant's alleged rape victim is white. My gut feeling is that the sex was consensual, regret and fear set in, and she made the allegation of rape. As events proceeded she because frightened ... too frightened to step forward and put a halt to this disaster by telling the truth.

If Kobe Bryant forcibly raped this girl, send him to jail ... for a long time. If he is being put on trial because some young girl regrets a romp in the sack with an athlete and is afraid for her reputation, then the wrong person is going to trail.

In the meantime .. we have a good lesson for other athletes out there, especially the younger ones who are loaded with athletic talent but not too burdened with judgment and common sense. Those women fawning over you can well be dangerous. You would be better off sticking your love commando into a cage full of scorpions.

I think he has a point, whether you care for this case or not.

You make a good point but to tell the truth, I couldn't care less about professional athletes. I am so disgusted by the entire professional sports scene and what it's done to our society as a whole, I could just SPIT!

Basketball is about the sport I care about the least!! (dont start flamming me, you can talk sh** about golf all you want)...... So Kobe Bryant is definitely not someone I have concern for...... I do think that he will get some special treatment due to being famous and rich.... Maybe not from the legal system, but some money to the jury and to the defending lawyer sure would go a long way..... Not saying he would do that, but at least he could afford the best lawyer in the country!

I've pretty much lost interest in all professional sports anymore. The players are all a bunch of overpaid a$$holes and whiners with no loyalty and few morals. I'll not contribute one dollar to further the problem.

What KC and Blackout said. Yeah!

I'm sick of entertainers and sports figures being deified and paid the exhorbitant amounts of money they get. They should be taxed triple for being able to make a living "playing" or play-acting like a child. Most of these people never did an honest day's work in their lives, and most never will have to.

On top of that, these people also have a limited education, yet we are supposed to stand up and take notice whenever they feel like letting us in on their political beliefs--as if they're qualified to comment or have an opinion on anything!

I hope all these teams go bankrupt on Kobe Bryants and LeBron Jameses. Honestly, giving $40 million to some high school kid who (in a lot of cases) can't even read is ridiculous.

Lebron James made Straight A's his whole high school....but i dont think kobe did it anyways cuzz he can get any girl he wants he's rich why would he rape some 19 year old? have you seen his wife...she looks pretty good
I'm going to see Lebron pla tomorrow at the Boston Pro summer league...yes!

It seems pretty fishy to me. I think Kobe is guilty of bad judgment, not rape.
But you never know, sometime athletes used to gettting there way push things a little too far and the cookie ends up crubling against them, the woman files charges even though she shouldn't have gotten herself into that situation anyway and she probably led him on.

these players can all read, give me a break. Some might be dumb (see shawn kemp) but not that dumb. You might be smarter than them but do you have the athletic ability to get people to pay $65 bucks to watch you play? Everyone has their strengths and their weaknesses.

Don't tell me they aren't doing an honest days work. Look at major league baseball players. They play 162 games a year, are always under the microscope, and they get like 8 or 9 days off all summer and fall. Do you think thats hard work? I do.

myself Being a basketball player and having been offered to play in europe...I know that basketball is hard work. It is a job they get paid to do. They are under the microscope and while it is something they love, they take it seriously and they work there asses off on the court and in the weight room. Those players are the best in the world and they deserve to make a lot, but I wouldn't say they're worth millions. See Vin baker of the celtics, 14 million a year for being in alcohol treatment all year.

Have you guys ever run suicides or 17s? Your coach gets pissed at you and he makes you run sprints until you feel like you're going to collapse and die? You guys wouldn't know one bit about that would you.

I think Kobe Bryant is an idiot for getting himself in that situation... I never liked him anyway, he's a baby and should've been smarter than that.
