Hey guys,

My 2002 Escalade is making a pretty loud racket from the lower passenger-side of the engine. I’m not sure if this is lifters, exhaust, or flexplate and if it’s safe to keep driving.

Generally the noise is loudest at first start and slowly quiets down. Oil pressure is a touch above 40 at idle, and the engine runs fine. It seems to go silent at 2500+ RPM and then start up again when it returns to idle. Any thoughts?

Look at the rear exhaust manifold bolt. So common they make a kit to tighten it without removing the broken bolt. Does it quiet down a little after the engine is warmed up good?
