Anybody else have this noise? I have an 05 with CORSA and LPE CAI. During moderate to hard acceleration, I hear what sounds like a knock coming from around the transmission tunnel/shifter. Don't feel it as much as I hear it. I thought it might be an exhaust leak but have found none. Also looked for clearance issues with the CORSA and body/drivetrain - nothing here either. It seems to be worse during cold weather. I don't believe it to be an actual engine knock as I can't make it happen while loading the engine at low rpm.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Highly recommend you check the exhaust, there can be clearance issues that you can't see very well. Pay really close attention to where the exhaust goes through the tunnel running over the strap brace and below the driveshaft.

I was one of the Corsa owners that had the issue with the exhaust hitting the driveshaft when driving in heavy rain. It's hard to believe how much that exhaust can move when it expands and contracts...

James, I have had the same problem. If expansion/contraction is the problem, how did you fix it?

I just kept tinkering with the alignment... I ended up having to move the exhaust pipes down until they were almost touching the strap brace...

So far, it's been good and haven't had any more instances of it hitting the driveshaft.

I have the same noise since new but I have stock exhaust and I use 93 octane all the time. I have taken it 3 times now. Twice they kept it over night to start up in the cold of course they can't find it. 1 tech has heard it but couldn't figure it out he says there is no codes which I tell him there won't be it runs fine it's a noise sounds like solid lifters noise spark knock sewing machine you name it. Bugs the hell out of me sounds cheap. Mine sounds like it's coming from front of motor waterpump serp belt tensioner area. I don't know but my happens at only at low rpms also when it hits power bans it's fine. Anybody have any ideas or had the same noise.
