I was racing a Ford Countour V6 and noticed how shitty the Northstar. In my 02 Deville performed. It was from a stop and I won but man it seriously lacks any low end torque! I remember that my 92 4.9 was pretty good just dissapointed that there is no realistic upgrades. The only thing I have found is a remote mount turbo from a company called STS and it would probably kill my low end due to the turbos having to spool up. Looks like my next caddy willl be a supercharged cts v when I can get a used one for 10 or so thousand or look into an infinity g35x they have at least some mods for them. Don't get me wrong I still love my deville just doing a small rant.

It's a 279 c.i. engine. It's a little engine. It needs to wind to make power.

You're hauling a 4,300# car plus passenger and toys. It is not and will never be a drag queen. Yes, you can do some small stuff within its class but if you want 12's and 13's you need to go elsewhere. You're driving a FWD Cadillac for which there is literally NO aftermarket.

The turbo is simple :)bonkers:) and has been done in Seville, once. All it takes is a good shop, about $16,000, a lot of time and tuning, and the car is no longer a reliable daily driver.

Have you looked at www.corsaperformance.com ? If that piques your interest, go to www.AutoPartsWarehouse.com.

STS remote turbos for a kit is like 2 grand I could see all said and done maybe 5k but not 16k I have not checked that. Out yet but if its an exahst system I'm toying with the idea of making my own and eliminating the first muffler or resonator and replacing the other 2 with flowmaster 40 series but then again I can't seem to make my mind up. I read about the seville turbo a little ill have to read it again to find out the reliability issues I was only planning on 5 to 7 psi nothing. Too dramatic. Sorry if there are grammar and punctuation mistakes that's one of the drwbacks posting on a phone.

I have an email from STS I will copy it and post when I get home it claims 1995 for a universal singal tubo and 2995 twin turboi was saying all said and done with 5 to 7 like mentioned previously around 5k welding and installing myself google their website. And you can see how its done. These tend to be popular for corvettes from what I have been hearing.

A lot of people underestimate the V6 Contours and Mystiques. They look so contemporary and...bland, it's easy to shrug them off. However, that 2.5 Duratec actually packed a very impressive punch when stuffed into that little car. You won, but I bet it wasn't by a large margin.

Thank you for contacting STS Turbo regarding our remote mounted turbo systems!

Yes, we have a great solution for your application! It is called our Universal Single (or Twin) Turbo System. Our Universal Systems have been successfully installed on hundreds of satisfied customers' vehicles over the years.

The patented STS SINGLE TURBO SYSTEM for only $1995 and the STS TWIN TURBO SYSTEM for only $2995 are a great Value. You can put the turbo wherever you want which gives you endless possibilities for turbo placement. By remotely mounting the turbo you simplify the installation and you completely stay away from the damaging and power robbing heat produced by a manifold mounted turbo. The STS system uses a SCAVENGE PUMP(2 for the twin) that is included in the kit together with hoses, fittings and electrical components to turbo charge your vehicle. The STS oil pump equipped with an ALARM system to notify you of a malfunction will take the oil from the turbo and pump it back to the motor and can be fitted to the valve cover for ease of installation unlike typical front mount systems that require tapping the oil pan increasing the installation time and cost. The kit also includes the correct size STS Turbo ('S) for your motor and horse power goals, a reusable High flow STS air filter (x2 on the Twin System), STS/Turbosmart 38mm Wastegate std with a 5psi spring (x2 on the Twin System) that is upgradeable to the boost level you desire, Flanges for the turbo and wastegate for mounting, a comprehensive installation instructions manual and a 1 year warranty. Optional components are available....

(STS/Turbosmart 50mm Blow Off Valve $299)

(STS Turbo upgrades up to 1200hp+ Available, See sales rep for more information)

(STS Turbo Dual Stage Boost controller $165)

(STS Turbo Water Methanol Injection system $499)
