Been through the form quite a few times, but having seen my particular issue with the keyless entry system. Just got my second CTS coupe, this one is a premium unlike my other one that I totaled about a month ago. The key looks pretty new and has good range, and all buttons work. However the keyless entry doesn't work. Went through the DIC and don't see any options for turning it off, am I missing something? And I have checked the button for the door, seems to work fine.

Auto Door UnlockThis feature allows you to select whether or not the door(s) will automatically unlock. It also allows you to select which doors and when they will automatically unlock. SeeAutomatic Door Locks on page 2‑17for more information.

You need to re-read the manual.

Thanks for the reply, however I have and I changed the RKE system to only unlock the driver's door. But still with no luck, and I'm not sure that we have same manual or were talking about the same thing bc my manual has different layout. Also tried another remote, all buttons work but nothing when I walk up to it.

You need to use the DIC buttons to access the unlock program.
Vehicle Personalization Vehicle customization allows certain features to be programmed for one preferred setting.
Only the customization options available will be displayed on the DIC. The default settings were present when the vehicle left the factory but may have been changed. The customization preferences are automatically recalled. To change customization preferences, use the following procedure. Entering the Feature Settings Menu1. Turn the ignition on. To avoid excessive drain on the battery, it is recommended that the headlamps are turned off.2. Press the customization button to enter the feature settings menu. Feature Settings Menu ItemsThe following are customization features that allow you to program settings to the vehicle: Display In EnglishThis feature will only display if a language other than English has been set. This feature allows for changing the language of the DICmessages back to English. Press the customization button until the PressV To Display In English screen appears on the DIC display. Press the set/reset button once to select English as the language in which all DIC messages will appear. Display LanguageThis feature allows you to select the language in which the DIC messages will appear.

Thanks for the help everyone, replaced battery in remote without luck, also tried factory resetting again, no luck. Also try and just disconnecting the battery for a while, same story. But I tried the passenger door while it was locked and it opened. Driver's door opens fine once unlocked but seems like it doesn't want to work with keyless entry. Going to replace the micro switch and see if that works!

The coupe does not have microswitches. It only has the rubber pad on the door handle, like what everyone else has for the trunk switch. You can remove the pad/switch, open it and clean it to see if that fixes the problem. If it does, it will work for a while, but not forever. What you can do is get a replacement and just hang on to it till it begins failing again. Then since you already have a replacement on hand, just pull the old one and replace with a new one.

Did you try the drivers switch on the passenger door while you had them out? That would tell if it is good or not. If not, obviously replace it. But since the passenger switch didn't work on the drivers door, I suspect maybe a bad ground on the drivers side.

Good idea, tried that and the door switch that I was assuming was bad worked fine on both sides. Next step I'm thinking would be seeing if there's maybe a bad relay, already checked fuses. Or trying to find a wiring diagram. But thanks again, saved me 20$ on the switch, unfortunately I'm just more lost now lol😂🤦

Went through fuse box, everything good, can't see any relays that control the door that on fuse box cover. Out of ideas really, does anyone know if that car locked light on the dash is supposed to dissappear once your close enough, maybe somehow its not seeing the key on the left side of the car?

Thanks, did a little more troubleshooting and I think it's one of the receivers or antennas but I don't understand which one does what and also don't know where all of them are, I checked the center console one and it seemed to be working. I unplugged it in the car immediately said key not detected so I think that one is just for the running part. Anyone know what receiver or antenna is supposed to control the driver side passive entry? And if so where it would be, thanks.

Door handles have antennas in them that can go bad. Also the solenoids in the door can go bad. I just replaced one in my wagon today.

You may be able to test if the door handle antenna is working or not.

You can check if the switches are working by pulling on the handle and checking with a volt meter.

Or you can just say the hell with it and replace the whole handle mechanism and the door actuator and keep your fingers crossed that it works.

Best I can figure is its the antenna on the rear shelf, just trying to figure out what it looks like now. I took the whole interior out of my old car for sound deadening so I know how to get to it. Unfortunately haven't been able to find any pics to determine what the component looks like but I know it should only have two wires going to it. Thanks again to everyone for the help, hopefully it's just that antenna. Will be back with results.....
