Hi folks,

I have a 2009 3.6L CTS AWD, and I'm having an issue with key fob batteries. For what ever reason, one of the two fobs I have needs a new battery about every 6 weeks. No idea why... The other fob seems to work fine with a battery from the same package of batteries. Twice now I had to get my wife to rescue me with her fob, so I could start the engine, as the car says "electronic key not detected.

Thanks for your help!

You've got buttons stuck, or the battery connection tabs are bent and not making good contact. I think I responded to a thread here last year about this. The remotes are finicky about how they go back together and it is easy to cause an issue.
You can also try cleaning your contacts.
Good Luck!

You do know that even if the battery is dead in the fob, you can still use the physical key in the fob to open the door, then insert the fob in the pocket in the center console to start the car. No wife needed (it feels so good saying that). This is detailed in the manual.
