2006 DTS: Even if the key has been removed from the ignition, the chime continues to chime when the driver door is opened. Any suggestions? I've made sure that headlights aren't on, reset the key fob, and even tried adjusting the volume (FYI Loud is crazy LOUD)

Sounds like a computer GLITCH...

There is a way to REBOOT all of the electronic modules in the entire car.
Sometimes ( lots of times) that will fix random electrical gremlins.

Remove BOTH battery cables... negative cable FIRST...
Touch both cables together for 5 seconds or so, making sure they have good contact with each other.
This will drain all the capacitors in the system.

While you have the cables off... undo the one bolted to the floor.
Take a little piece of sandpaper and sand the paint away from the attachment point.
It will then have a better ground.

Re-attach the battery cables... negative cable LAST...
You will have to do the window EXPRESS UP learn again and you MAY have to do the memory seat settings again.
Sometimes they will forget the seat settings and sometimes they don't.

I am having the same problem with my car. If I put the key in and out a few times it would sense the key was gone, but now that is not even working.

I'm having the opposite problem...I can leave my key in the ignition and no chime. I can get into my car and put the key in the ignition (with the door still open) and no chime. The "lights on" chime works fine, but the "key in ignition" chime has worked only a couple of times since I bought the car (in June)...most times, it doesn't work. Would that reset procedure work for that, as well? And, I'm not sure what you mean by the window express up learn thing...???

I also am having the same problem with the Chimes not shutting off?
Is it sage to Remove the Battery Terminals and touch them together as that sounds a little Dangerous.

Yes touching the terminals drains any remaining charge. It rests the modules.
