I got the rims on the way, so now I need a good set of summer tires with decent wet traction. Mainly looking for a sticky set of street tires at a decent price. Anyone know of any clearance sales? Tire size is up in the air right now, i'd love to do the staggered route and go with 255 40 and 275 35, but i'd be willing to stick with the stock tire size if that's the only way I could get a decent price on rubber. The most important thing is that I need 4 and preferably the same model tires. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Pretty happy with my Falkens. Sticky in dry weather, and I've driven in heavy rain with no problems. Didn't even feel the need to slow down.
I didn't get a lot of mileage out of them, but thet's me. Three track days, and lots of sririted city driving.
They were about $160 for 255/40.

I'll be changing out rims/tires in a few months. Is there actually room under there to run a 275-35? It looks stuffed with the 245-45. I would want to go wider with all 4 tires....like a 255-40. It's time for me to start looking into this stuff again. Anyone know the oem offset on the wheels?

I'm running Nitto NT-05's on mine. I've got 245/40/18's in the front nad 275/40/18's in the rear. I love the way the car rides and handles. The tires were pretty affordable. I've got no complaints about wet traction either. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone with 275/35/18's for the rear. Live and learn.

I was going to say Nitto NT-05 too. I am currently running Dunlop Direzas (245/40 F and 275/35 R) and will be going to the NT-05 as soon as my Dunlops are done.

Anyone running 265/35 on all four corners? Any rubbing if lowered a bit?

I was about to get the RT615s but the more I read about the NT05s the more I'm intrigued. Unfortunately they don't come in 255/40 size.

I'm not sure what a "decent" price is but I run the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's which are about $230 a tire.

I run 70+ on the freeway in rain with no problems. Even when we have ponding on the freeway I can still run the speed limit with no hydroplaning. They stick to the road very well when it's wet but have excellent traction on dry ground.

If you're running the track 265/35 is fine. But for the street, your tire is going to be much shorter. Not recommended...

If you're not staggering the width of rims, front to back, then it really doesn't matter if you run different tires, front to back. It would be wiser to go to a 255/40 or 265/40 if you want a wider tire than stock.

I second this! I have these tires and they have been great in both wet and dry conditions. Expensive but I will buy them again.

I have these as well. The set I have has been through two summers with me and one track day. I would definately buy them again.

I just put a set of Nitto NT05's on last week before going to VIR for the weekend. They were great on the highway driving down, being both quiet and smooth riding. At the track they were awesome with great grip and predictability. I don't know about wear (if I had to guess it won't be good) but as far as performance goes I am very impressed. Oh and by the way.........245/40/18 on the front and 275/40/18 on the rear.

Might raise some brows here, but I recently went w/ 245/45/18 Firestone Firehawk GT's... imo they're a great tire; a night & day difference from the nexen 3000's that were on the car when i bought it... cheap too, as I paid under $700 out the door at my local Firestone Complete Auto store (Houston.) They get mixed reviews on tire rack, but I'd buy them again... hard to break loose on dry pavement too
