They are a blast to drive. I came pretty close to buying one a couple months ago.
Just Drove A Brand-new Z06! ! ! !
A very good friend of mine let me drive his 2007 Z06 for two days. Well.......I liked the car, but...............I actually like my '05 "V" better. The Corvette handles VERY WELL.....accelerates VERY WELL.......rides like crap. I know, I know....it's a sports car, not a "luxury vehicle".....so don't yell at me. I like the audio system in our V's better, road noise is less in the V....our ride is firm (I have aftermarket springs), but on a bumpy/rough road, the Corvette becomes tiring very quickly. However, the shifting was GREAT on the 'vette. Very smooth and much more precise than our cars. (I have an aftermarket shifter and the new bushings on my V). Just thought you guys/girls would like to hear about this.......

I found the ride on the Z06 suprisingly compliant. A customer of mine with an obscene car collection (F430, 427 Cobra, Ford GT, Exige, etc..) let me flog his through a backwoods run we have near here, and I enjoyed the ride, even over the bumps.
I agree with Tony's assessment very closely as I drive my buddies whenever I want! Sorry FLYBOY but I am actually wondering if we all drove the same car! I actually find it too quiet for a sports car and it makes it feel like you're not even going fast but look down at the speedo and you'll know it! I race guys all the time in it but usually just people looking to see it go! I ran my other friends GTO in it and got beat by a car! I've mentioned driving it before but never really speak on it. I would not buy one no matter how much money I had as I am just not into the car that's supposed to be a rocket! I like the old C5 ZO6 better as it feels like a race car and I would just make it beat the new ones! An E55 is coming soon for me! The one I drove is the 505 HP job. I agree with the sound comments......fairly tame sounding, but the exhaust IS STOCK. But glancing at the speedometer after 3 shifts and the thing is WAY past 100 MPH.

I drove one last month at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, on their 2.2 mile track at speed. The exhaust at WOT is not tame. A great track car!
