Hi everybody,

I am new to the forum and just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself. I have loved cars my whole life. And I mean cars (not sports, etc.). I grew up during the muscle car era. I remember seeing a Corvette for the first time at a young age and being highly impressed. I used my allowance money to buy model cars and subscribe to Hot Rod magazine. From that I learned to love hot rods and custom-built cars. But I had an uncle who always owned Cadillacs. And I remember riding in those cars and feeling that everyone was looking at us because we were in a very special car. I guess all of these things contributed to the cars I own today.
My Cadillac-1993 Sixty Special-Cotillion White w/dark blue leather
My Muscle Car-1965 Mustang coupe-Rangoon Red w/red interior (formerly owned by Ned Jarrett)
My Hot Rod-1932 Ford Tudor Sedan-Corvette Yellow w/purple flames
My Corvette-2004 convertible-Arctic White w/Torch Red leather, black conv. top, 6-speed, fully optioned (presently on order-hoping for early December 2003 delivery)

Hey dooscoop32 - Welcome to the CadillacForums! Nice little stable of cars you've got going there. No trucks?

We'd love to hear all about *all* of your babies but sart with the Caddy - mileage, condition, accessories? Oh yeah...pictures of everything!

Thanks for the welcome! No, I don't have any trucks. As I said, I have always loved CARS. My Cadillac is a '93 Sixty Special. It is Cotillion White with dark blue leather. It has the AstroRoof, padded vinyl roof, chrome wheels, Bose Gold Stereo w/cassette, Memory driver's seat with dual power recliners, Security Package w/remote keyless entry, two-tone with silver lower accent color and dark blue pinstripes.
This car is in excellent condition. It has always been garaged. The previous owner had a cushy job where he even garaged it during the day at work. It does have 112,000 miles but many of those came from the previous owner driving it from their home in western NC to their beach house on the NC coast. It has its original shiny paint.
It is an excellent driver with Michelin tires. Everything works properly
and it always gets faithful maintenance including Mobil 1 synthetic oil.
What can I say? It's a Cadillac and I love seeing the wreath and crest on the hood as I motor down the highway. What a blast.
As far as my favorite, it is whatever I am driving at the time. :burn:
How's that for a politically correct answer?

I would go to the school library and read 'Hot Rod' and 'Car Craft'. My allowance was saved for 'Cartoons'.

Welcome aboard. The '32 Tudor is one of my favorites street rod body styles. You got fenders? Mine wouldn't. But thats just me.

Welcome aboard. The '32 Tudor is one of my favorites street rod body styles. You got fenders? Mine wouldn't. But thats just me.

Yeah, it's got fenders. Driving one without fenders would drive a clean-freak like me crazy, not to mention beating the paint off the sides. This car is the typical street rod: 350 Chevrolet with Crane cam, headers, Holley carb, Edelbrock intake, lots of billet parts, Turbo 350 trans., 8" Ford rearend, polished American Torq-Thrust one-piece wheels, Vintage air and heat, tilt wheel, alarm system with pager, Mustang GT power lumbar seats, tweed interior, etc. etc.. It is a steel car and I have copies of all of the titles back to the first one! It has always been a NC car and sold new at Dixon Ford in Belmont, NC for $550. It is the DeLuxe model with cowl lights. The standard Tudors sold for $500. The original purchaser borrowed $442 from Universal Credit Company in Charlotte, NC. The car was built at the now-defunct Charlotte, NC manufacturing plant. It was delivered on Oct. 6, 1932 to Dixon Ford.
It was originally Washington Blue with black fenders and did originally come with a flathead V8 (the first year for this engine). I have owned it for nearly 10 years and have put about 30,000 miles on it but it still looks new. It is extremely dependable and has never left me stranded anywhere. Its flames are '98 GM Metallic Purple fading into Viper Red outlined in Bright Blue. The main color is 1975 Corvette yellow (very bright).

The paint sounds pretty cool. I'm jealous.

So have you modded the Cadillac?

No, I haven't done any mods to the Cadillac and doubt that I ever will due to the rarity of the Sixty Specials and with '93 being the last year for them. There were only 5292 made in '93! :spin:

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to make a slight change to my "new member info". It doesn't necessarily pertain to Cadillacs but I still wanted to let you know. My info showed that we had a 2004 Corvette convertible on order. Well, that has changed because the car was delivered on 11/13/03 and we took delivery on 11/14/03. It is Arctic White with Torch Red leather and a black convertible top, fully loaded, 6-speed with Magnetic Selective Ride Control (unbelieveable option).
Just as a side note, this car was delivered to the Chevrolet dealer in an enclosed transporter! They had never seen that occur before so, in curiosity, several employees walked to the transporter to see what was going on. It was loaded with our Corvette and the rest were Cadillac XLRs!!!! :coolgleam :worship: :banana:

so for 04 the option is availbe on all vettes? went to the plant last summer , man was that a blast ...one day ill have one ..one day (probably end up with dads 73)

and your right about that wreath on the hood , pretty damned cool to see it out there ...

Yes, the Magnetic Selective Ride Control became available on the 2003 Corvettes as an option and as standard equipment on the 50th Anniversary cars. It is a little pricey though at $1695! But this is by far the best- riding and best-handling Corvette I have ever driven. Yeah, I've been to the Bowling Green plant and the tour is fascinating. They offer tours at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM so I took both just to try to take in all I was seeing! :worship:

yah when i was there they had a seperate line for the xlr to work out all the bugs of building them , tourguide was closed lipped about it but the northstars were a dead giveaway
