The other day i saw a jacked-up (slightly raised) Avalanche that looked really good, so i could only guess that an EXT would look even meaner. I orignally wanted to get 22s and go for the low profile look but now i don't know.

I have a '03 EXT, how would i go about (slightly) raising my truck so i could put larger tires on it and giving it a more "big-body" look.

Also is there any reprocutions as far as gas, ware and tear? Any wheel and tire specs that i should go by? Can you still hook-up a trailer to it? Has anyone else done this and maybe have pictures?

Thanks for any info! This is a great forum, i have learned alot here.

theres a bunch of lifted EXT's out there, some have been posted on here before. the bigger the tire you get, the more wear and tear and less gas mileage you'll get. a slightly bigger tire like a 285/75 won't affect much but a 37" will. how big do you want to go?

Not too big. just enough for it to sit a little higher off the ground. i don't need it to be too flashy just to give it a more meaner look and have the tire look like the fit the truck. if you know of any websites to go a research please let me know. Thanks for your input.

about this high?
Yeah that is what i had in mind. How big are these rims and what is the tire specs? I might want a little bit bigger rim and a tire with the same size tire but with less rubber (if possible). Could you suggest the tire specs i may be looking for? How did there\ or what is the best way to rasie the truck? (sorry for all the questions, i'm new to truck mods)

What ever comes standard on a 03 EXT...i have no idea. when it comes to cars or trucks, i'm an idot. i just know what i like them to look like - not how to get it done or what to ask for.

Does anyone know what comes standard on a 03 EXT (coil spring or torsion bar in the front? coil spring or leaf spring in the rear?) ?

well since i've never had an EXT, i'll try to cover all the bases.

the easiest way to fit bigger tires is to get a 2 or 3" body lift. you'll have the exact same ride you do now, but you might have to fabricate new bumper brackets to make them line up properly. body lifts are around $300 + install + any fabrication + gap guards (to keep the wheel wells looking good).

leaf spring rear all you'd need is a block however big you want or an Add-A-Leaf (or a combination of the two). block wouldn't change the ride, but the AAL will make it a lil stiffer. blocks go for $30-100. AAL's go for around $60. + install on each.

coil spring front you could add a coil spacer for up to 2" of lift. it'll stiffen the ride a lil. they're $40-100 + install. you could also get a lifted spindle. won't change the ride, but will increase the track width a lil on each side in the front. they're a few hundred dollars.

torsion bar front you can get new torsion bar keys for maybe up to 2". they'll definately stiffen the ride because you're losing downward travel of the front wheels. they're about $50. you can also get a spindle for this style suspension too.

coil spring rear. never dealt with them so i have no clue. possibly longer coils or maybe spacers.

if you find that your suspension is the same as the Avalanches (if you have AWD look at the 4wd Avalaches) then you could get a 4" Avalanche lift kit for about $1600. you could fit up to 33" tires (about what that EXT i posted is running).
