I have searched the ISC here and there have been a ton of posts on it....but I was not able to find anything on the steps to replace it? My 4.9 is going up and down the lower rpm at warm start again....this is also once and awhile not all the time. I suspect it is the ISC going south.

Simply R & R it. Once the new one is in, push in on the plunger and it will retract. When it is fully retracted, unplug it. The engine should just barely idle at about 450 RPM. Now screw out the plunger to the throttle stop. Here is where my memory is foggy so maybe someone will recall what "Rob" said. Now back it off and lock it at either .030 or .060 gap.
