No, but my father's is--well, actually, his isn't messy, but too packed with little things in every compartment and on the floor, because he "needs that stuff". Tic-tacs, gum, pretzels, hats, gloves, deoderant, etc.--doesn't really impede sitting in the car too much, though.

Mine is usually washed once a week at least, dusted and wiped down daily to keep everything spotless, and the inside is only touched by me and a tissue box in the back seat, so it rarely even gets dusty. Can't stand clutter in the car, hence the lack of extra "stuff".

NO no no. I remove EVERYTHING form the car every time I get home. Well everything that's considered clutter. Obviously I leave sun glasses and the stuff inside the console but nothing that's out in plain sight.

I cant stand that.

Absolutley not. Now my wife's minivan is a rolling dumpster. I don't understand how someone can be so indifferent to a mess. She has water bottles all over the place, coffe cups, etc. I keep telling her this is dangerous. Since the van has no center console to partition the driver's area there is nothing to stop a coffee cup from getting under the brake. This is just dangerous.

I've also warned her that in the event of a roll over all that shit is going to fly around. Any one want to get hit in the head with a coffee cup during a wreck or another heavy object that just get even more heavy when thrown around? Not me.

Yeah, same here, with the exception again being my father--one little thing that drives me nuts is he REFUSES to keep that front center console flip out closed on both the Roadmaster and Fleetwood "because I put stuff there". Sounds so dumb, but I can't tell you how many arguments I've had starting with "Well, that's fine, but it closes for a reason and you don't always have stuff there".

Mom is in between, also hating clutter and too much junk, but every time I get in her Suburban, I always find a used tissue sitting in the cupholder and there's always coffee drips (no idea how) in the same place. That's about it, though, aside from the tons of paper towels and bags under the back seats for the dogs.

Just remembered another...

One of my father's uncles and aunts, who've had a few different minivans, have a penchant for ALWAYS having the floor covered front to back in empty plastic bottles and even more used disposable cameras. The bottles are one thing, but she just takes a ton of pictures, and then toss in goes the disposable on the floor...

I keep mine spotlessly clean inside. I never have anything exposed lying in the interior, I keep some pens and Altoids and stuff like that in the armrest, but other than that the interior is free of any crap. Heck, I even reposition my rear seatbelts and latches after someone uses them. I'll vacuum it out 1-2 times a month and dust the dash off every now and then. But I really gotta shampoo the carpets and seats, I've been meaning to do that for a long time. But thanks to last night, there's a lingering smell of beer in it. Hopefully my three strawberry air fresheners hanging from the parking brake pedal will take care of that.

Which brings up another good question, do you all use air fresheners and if so, what kind do you prefer?

I keep my car absolutley perfect inside. The only things I have inside are sunglasses, ipod with tape adapter, my camera, and spare change in the center console.

To answer Chad's question, I don't use air fresheners in my car. I keep the inside of my car smelling nice by vaccuming it, and cleaning/conditioning the leather.

No air fresheners, here. But, I don't allow smoking, eating, nor even most drinking in my cars. I think I became anal about my car interiors in the early 80s when I started about 10 years of having company cars when I worked for Digital. I drove about 35-40K miles a year and kept my cars presentable for customer calls.

Even my trunk is pretty spotless. The only things I have in there are my 12 disc changer, snow brush and dust brush.

Not to sound sexist, but some women seem to follow the Rhoda Morganstern philosophy. Mary Richards' famously schlumpy best friend on The Mary Tyler Moore Show once referred to her car as "a big purse on wheels."

I keep Cruella pretty clean inside. The glovebox and armrest console have some things I need inside, and in the trunk, I have a AAA emergency road kit and a couple of quarts of oil and tranmission fluid, paper towels and a funnel.

My car usually stays very clean. THe only trash you'll find will be in the driver's side door pocket. I NEVER litter, so I throw trash in there and probably clean it out once a week or so.

I handwashed my truck yesterday and had it looking really clean. Of course.....it rained 2 hours later. :rant2:

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
That's my ladyfriend's car! There's all sorts of shit in it. Makeup, money, CDs, papers of varying degrees of importance, mail, coupons, drinks, empty cigarette packets, lighters, register tapes, etc., etc., etc.

Mine is not messy most of the time, sometimes I just don't have the time and it'll acquire a few drink containers and old newspapers, maybe a sweatshirt or two, but I try to pick that stuff out ASAP. Right now it's clean!
