Here are pics for if the link is broken for you guys . He was asking a grand for it, when I phoned him up I talked him down and he said "Well 500 and you can take it" then I continued to talk him down and he said "I could let you have it for a box of Cubans..." Luckily for me a box of cubans runs about 150-200 bucks where I live. :D I'm gonna call him up tomorrow and see if I can go over yonder and take a look. I hope hes not more than an hour or two's drive... PS If these links also don't work please let me know :) PPS yes the CDVC is also a '70 :D

Holy gosh man!

WHITE LEATHER!!!!!!!

looks like that dash has seen better days....

it looks solid to me, bumpers look nice... damn, fix the dash and get a paint job (BLACK! black fixes everything!) and you are good to go.

damn, you had to ASK about this? sure to alot of people its "just an old ugly car" but surely any of us here at CO know better then that!

damnit damnit damnit! I want a freaking classic Cadillac convertible..... gosh I need a deal like that...

though I suppose I should be grateful.... I scored my '79 DeVille for $300.... all I can say is GET THE THING! really.... such a sweet car.... I can go on... but damn the '70 CDVC was a well rounded car, I love the inteiror, the body, last year of the convertible... got a beefy 472 in there...ahhh.... call him tomorrow!

oh, BTW

for a kickass CHEAP paintjob.... paint the thing flat black....

yup... no shine... but damn, at night, when the light shines ont he car, you'll see every single freakin body line on the car... lines that you never seen before....

it would give it that sweet rat rod/don't mess with me kind of attitude, but still be one hell of a car to drive!

I'd say a box of Cubans and find a buddy to get you a 6-pack and throw it in on the deal :)

Well the only problem is, that Caddy is in Vancouver Washington, thats like 4 and a half hours away from here... Hmmm... I so badly want it though... hahaha... And its a convertible.... man... He said it runs, and if I was mechanically inclined I could drive it home, I'm not sure my dad would be all that keen on coming along for the ride. I need a plan to get this thing home bad. :)

ah yes, you gotta smuggle Cubans into the US.... fun fun...

my father switched all teh bands and the box to some other brand when it was in turks &cacos or something like that... never bothered him.

LOL, ya know, a 4.5 hour road trip in a 37 year old car that is in unknown condition..... is something i would do! lol, really I would.

Here is the most logical thing.... does your family or any friends own a pickup or an SUV or something with a towing rating of 6,000lbs or so? (such as your '70 Sedan... that thing running? :) )

go to U-haul and rent a tow dolly for the day... it would be like $80 if that... then the cost of gas and get the person that lent you the truck a nice present :)

damn man, if you don't get that, I may have to fly to Washington instead of NY over my Christmas break.... and come back to FL in a '70 CDVC instead of a '79 SDV :)

BTW, on the way back.... see if it'll still burry the 120mph speedo.... they were supposed to when new :) yeah, dry rotted tires and all.... hell, I hit 110 in the '79 with bald and cracked tires serverly off balance.... never do that aga...... errr.. I mean it was sooo cool, you gotta try it! :)

I'd love to do the whole 4.5 hour trip in an unreliable car myself, but I doubt my parents would let me do it alone, and I doubt my dad would want to go with me. I might have to do that brand switching thing though, man you should go with me! :) Too bad we live a country apart heh heh... Yes my dad owns an old F-350 Diesel and my '70 Sedan is quite drivable, I'd trust it to go that far, however the price of towing that beast up here in that thing would be enormous. Quite a site it would be, a '70 SDV towing a '70 CDVC! I don't think I have ever gone 120mph in any of my cars, especially if it had unbalanced tires, that must have been crazy!

oh man... F-350 PowerStroke........ thats like the orgasm of trucks..... that and a Dodge with the Cummins..... damn it, if I had access to that thing, I would MAKE SURE I got a dolly and driving down there would be half the fun.... I like trucks... I like diesels.... so its just natural :)

wow... these sleeping pills I took 2 hours ago are finally hitting me... I am kinda rocking back and fourth in the chair right now so anything I say I can't be held liable for (kinda like being drunk.... but now :) )

dude, I am always up for a long car ride! lol.... too bad you didn't... say live in FL and pick up a car 5 hours up North, I'd love to go (gotta promise to let me drive for a bit tho :) )

on a serious note, would your dad let you borrow the sex-of-a-truck that the F-350 is? is the the ~'97+ or so that look really really cool?

how does he feel about you getting a sweet classic project car? I'd say borrow the truck, rent a dolly and pick it up.... bring a 2nd box of Cubans for the gas station attendent when you fill up on diesel though :)

110mph in that car... yeah... good times, I have some good stories from that...errr... those times... those tires were soo bad, the right rear tire was literally bald, it had wheel weights on it but soo out of balance that wne I hit 75mph, the whole dash would rattle.... so imagine 110 :) now with 4 new tires that are un balanced there is hardly a vibration at 80... thats how bad it was.

Do what ya gotta do... next time you report, you better be telling us you have the title.... err.... registration and its sitting in your driveway! :)

My all time favorite body is the '69 body. However I prefer the back of the 70 over the back of the 69. The front of the 70 is slightly different than the front of the 69. The 69 still has the V while the 70 just has the crest on the DeVilles. I'm still dreaming about that black 69 SDV near my for sale. Maybe I can make that dream come true if I save up. New job after all.

I hesitated on a car I wanted because it was 4 hours away and I was trying to figure ouit the logistics of bringing it back in one trip there and back. I should have just gone, made the deal, and gone back the following week or something. I was 2 days too late. The guy who saw it bought it on the spot. I blame the guy selling for being hard to arrange a mutual time. He wanted to go hunting instead of getting a very generous offer. Oops,... I'm venting. See what will happen if you miss out!!!

I don't like those ones too much but yeah I'd say it's probably worth a box of cubans! What happened to the dashboard? It looks like someone beat the crap out of it.

Well I'm all ready to go down and have a look but I am having a helluva time convicing my dad to let me go. He just doesn't want to take up a day of his own time which I understand, quite frankly I don't even care if he goes, but him and my mom both say he has to come. Arg! the pains of being underage... I'm not entirely sure what happened to that dash, it does looks to be in rough shape though. My dad won't let me take his '98 F-350 Powerstroke all the way down there either, and he does need it to go to work because it has all his tools in it and he is a carpenter. I have a few more tricks up my sleeve to try and get him to go, but it does seem a bit doubtful, beyond this there is really nothing I can do, the ar is simply out of my reach, oh well... I guess I might just have to be happy with the Caddy I've got... ;)

So they don't care if you actually get the car and have another vehicle around the house (my problem)... its just that they both want him to go with you, but he can't/dosn't want to...

heh.... I dunno.... maybe if you go with a couple friends they would be willing?

what about a weekend, be a nice day out with your dad, grab lunch etc...
