Hey guys,
I bought my 99 STS in November '04. How can I tell if it is Z-rated? Any help
is greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Check the sticker on the drivers side door or door jam. It will tell you what tires came with the car. If they are Z's then it is Z rated.

All Z-rated cars would've been custom ordered by someone willing to wait or a dealer with a custom allocation to burn. Not a very prevalent feature unfortunately, though I don't know where you'd go 150 mph.

H rated tires are good up to 130mph. That should be plenty good enough.

Yeah , those z rated tires cost a decent bit more. Not worth it to me.

Even if you've got H rated tires a quick burst to 150 shouldn't hurt a thing. The ratings are for extended periods of high speeds.

My 99 is z-rated, and yet to see over 135. (that was on 495 heading to Gillette) So my last 2 sets of tire were H rated, for money and convenience. No one seems to carry the Z tires in that size...
