My condenser was damaged vehicle was off and some of the gas leaked out. My low charge compressor disabled warning isn't on though. Can the a/c be recharged by engaging the compressor with defrost, or do I need to have it be warm enough out I can actually run the air conditioning? It's around 40-50 right now in my area

You should be able to run the compressor in DEFROST - IF there's enough system hi/lo pressure to get things going.

hi why not replace the condenser ?or was it taken off and repaired and put back on and if so was it put in a vac before charge was added .. my car I would vac down system and put in by weight.. theres no way that youll get the charge right and could poss over charge due too low amb temp .. when just topping a car off incoming air at the rad should be no less then 80 deg to get the proper hot gas to liq charge . no less then 78deg inside car
