Got a 2005 Deville with 46k mi and warranty is scheduled to end 7/09.
Called the Cadillac dealer and he said he could sell me an extended warranty:
3 years 24k mi $50 deductible $2265 $200 deductible $1870
The 4 year program was another $1000 and the 2 year was almost the same cost so this plan hits the "sweet spot". Is it worth it? Hate the thought of having no warranty protection. Need some opinions here. Many thanks.

Find and read my recent thread regarding extended warranties... good info in there.. some people for, some against.. Do some internet research and call a few companies... makes sure u ask to see a copy of the actual contract, ask if its inclusionary or exclusionary, and if u can take the contract to a service rep and he'll tell you if it's worth it or not... Try getting a quote from CarChex, they gave me a good quote, $2800 for 4 years or 100K total miles...

Stay away from US Fidelis, apparently they have numerous lawsuits among several states and they have an F rating on BBB, along with many consumer complaints. AA Auto Warranty might also be worth checking out... Your car is newer, and still under the factory warranty, so IMHO you should be able to better than the price you were quoted for same coverage.. Many companies also offer you the option for paying slightly more total, however you can distribute payments over 12 or 18 months after putting between 15-20% down (of the total amount).
