I have a 2002 Escalade AWD and for a week now my interior lights have been on constantly. I've checked the dimmer switch. I've opened and slammed shut all doors including hatch. I've checked the fuse as well. I've also noticed that when i'm driving sometimes they will flicker off and back on and stay off for a few minutes, but ultimately come back on. I believe the only thing that is saving my battery is the automatic shutoff on the truck. It will force them off after 10 or 20 minutes or so. I've had an aftermarket alarm on the car for about six months with no issues. The funny thing is my alarm works where the led comes on when you open a door and the led turns off when you close the door, or the led comes on when you trigger the shock sensor, so this kind of confirms that I am not seeing a door open, because the led will be off while the interior lights are on. Could it be the door switch anyway? Where are they located in the door? Is there anything else I should check?

Does your display say that any of your doors are open? Is there any chance that water may have gotten into a switch somewhere and caused some corrosion? When you get out of your truck and you lock the doors, do you get whatever 'response' you have your truck set up to give (lights flash, horn, etc) The reason I ask, is because if you try and lock the doors, and a door is open, then the doors will lock, but the horn will not chirp.

The flickering makes it sound like either water/corrosion or a loose connection/frayed(damaged) wire

No door open alerts. When I get out and lock the doors the horn honks like it is supposed to. I will go check the alarm again. It could be a loose connection to the dome supervision wire and keeps grounding out. It pretty much ruled out a door switch, because I never get a door open alert.

The dimmer switch controller is common to go out. Make sure that the dimmer switch is in the up position but not all the way you feel it click in to the top position that means you went to far and pull back down right before you feel the click. Every door latch assembly has to little modules on them and I know one is so the car know when the door is opened or closed. On my 02 I would open the right rear door and the lamps wouldn’t turn on and after I replaced the latch assembly they came on. Also on the dimmer switch module make sure the knob is all the way to the left position. Where it says dome override you can turn the courtesy lamps on/off yourself when you need to use it.
