This happened a few months ago, but I havent really been on the boards. So I'm at the dealership getting my car serviced, so while I wait, I head to the showroom and there is a beautiful XLR sitting there. The top is up and windows too, so I open the door and sit inside and shut the door. I sit there playing with buttons and turn the headlights on for a second, well I guess the battery was really low since it was in the showroom, and when I went to get out...THE DOOR WOULDNT OPEN! So I tried it again and it wasnt working, then i realized oh shit the battery probably died. So im sitting in the car wondering what to do, while each second that passes the XLR cabin is feeling smaller and smaller lol, so I finally knock on the window tryin to get the attention of the salesman who was sitting with a customer, first he looks and looks back, then I knock again and motion that Im stuck, LOL, they try to get the key fobs out and it wont work, so they tell me to pop the hood and they jump the battery with those portable jump starts system. The owner was joking that I better have my checkbook ready haha.
Overall it was pretty embarassing, but it really makes you think, I mean technology is cool, but when does it just become a stupid gimmick, what if I was in an accident in that car and the electrical system wouldnt work, how do you open the doors then? Im suprised somethign like that can pass safety standards.
