Got your attention for the wrong reason? This is strictly V related...

If you're afraid your horsepower increases are stressing your stock unit, you really flog it on track days, or want a different gear ratio set, this might be worth looking into.

(No I'm not on their payroll, just helpin' my forum buds with more data!)

And there are some good technical articles there, too.

I've definetly thought about revised gear ratios.
It's good to know this stuff available, should it be needed.

No Thanks... Especially if its French made...
I am confused. The French, who gave us radial tires and told us to stay out of Iraq, don't make Tremecs, which come from Mexico and the USA. Rockland Gear is in New York. ????

Hey man a Transzilla has to be Japanese right?

Perhaps if we ever get the rear end squared away, we can start worrying about the transmission as a next weak link. Untill then, this just does not seem like a priority.

if i ever break mine ... i'm sending it to Hanlon Motorsports... they build all the tremecs for my friends who race NMRA... i'm sure they can build something in whatever gear ratios i want that will withstand anything...

all in all it'll be cheaper than devine

Interestingly, I do have a need for a beefed up tranny.

I sent my trans to these guys:
http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/

I'm getting their Level V Upgrade
http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/levelvt56.html

With all the work they do, they swear it will shift super nice and take more torque.

Clearly it's not as strong as the Tranzilla piece (mentioned in posts above) as that piece uses stronger (performance cut) gears.
Downside of Tranzilla is noise, but I heard mixed opinions on how loud it really is.

I chose to go with OEM C5 1st/2nd/3rd Gear Ratios which are taller than our gears and closer spaced.
I am combining that with G-Force .8/.7 5th/6th Overdrive gears.
http://www.g-forcetransmissions.com/tran_gt-56.asp

The end result will be very close ratios from 1st thru 6th.
Bottom left option on this sheet:
http://www.g-forcetransmissions.com/T56Ratios1.pdf

Noise should be low since 1-4 are OEM gears and the G-Force 5th & 6th are cut for use w/ OEM gears.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
