I have a 2008 cts and was doing some searching for performance / exhaust mods such as a downpipe kit and maybe a new hood with vents to get more air to my k&n intake, but I noticed that the 2008 cts doesn’t have many options and was wondering if some aftermarket parts for the ctsv would work for the 2008 cts.

Not really. And your '08 CTS (2nd gen) shares very, very little in common with the '04-07 CTS-V (1st gen).

If you want performance mods for your '08 CTS, I'd suggest looking at the '08-13 CTS Performance Mods forum - 2008-2013 CTS Performance Mods.

If you want CTS-V parts for your generation of CTS, I'd suggest looking at the '09-15 CTS-V forums - CTS-V Series Forum - 2009-2015.
