Put the V on front ramps and it took about 1.5 hours working time, about 2 total with a few beers and smoke breaks. I didn't remove the Corsa resonators or drop the driveshaft, just jammed my hands up there and worked carefully.
Beautiful piece, goes on perfectly and feels great. I used some teflon paste to smear the ball and the shoulder-pin, like butter!!!!
I did the test drive thing and had some synchro noise, so I went to pepboys for some dynomat. No dynomat, but they did have Dead Skin...similar product. I wrapped a few pieces around the stick and pulled the rubber boot up around the stick. There's still a "little" bit of sound, but only noticeable when the radio is off and windows are up. Certainly acceptable with a $200 savings over the UUC.
The car is a joy to shift. Very precice, deliberate, and solid feeling. Without a doubt, the first mod that should be done. For all the fence-sitters, take the plunge and you'll be happy. Directions were very clear and followed the procedure quite well. Only thing I didn't notice in the instructions was the "electronic clip/harness/thingamagiggy" in front of the shifter...mounted on the shifter plate. I just unclipped it from the shifter plate and pushed it forward before I removed the plate.
All said and done, I'm very happy.
