Hello,

A few month ago I have asked regarding the installation of a rear view camera to the factory nav.
There was no way to adapt a reversing camera to the factory nav.

So I just want to let you know another solution in addition, not instead of the factory nav:

For a couple of months I have now the Pioneer Avic F500BT fitted with reversing camera , and I´m thrilled!

The touchscreen controlled Avic F500BT gets me:
- Rear view camera
- Handsfree Bluetooth with address book
- Complete control of ipod incl. video on full screen (sound runs automatically on the factory Bose sound system!)
- An additional very good 3D navigation system with working(!) TMC

It has been professionally installed by probably the best car-hifi-shop in town, knowing for pimping Bentley, Maserati, Aston Martin...

All functions of the factory nav and rear-seat-entertainment run like before.

The Pioneer is a very nice unit. I'm glad that it worked out for you. However, I have a rear view camera connected to my stock '08 navigation unit using a PAC-GM3 interface to allow the video input. It is a well designed interface unit that isn't too difficult to install and works very well.
