Anyone successfully replaced the injectors in a '90 Deville 4.5 with something other than the factory units. If so what did you use? I replaced the injectors on my 91 TPI 'vette with some Ford units that are much less expensive and work just fine. Just wonder if there is something similar available for the caddy's.
Thanks

I just replaced the injectors in my 90 DeVille, 4.5 with NEW, GP Sorensen injectors. I had had a nightmare with injectors, (replaced one, then another went out; pulled all eight and had them refurbished & bench tested...then two more failed...gave up and replaced them all). I was about to buy Delco injectors (@$150 ea. at GM) until I thought about it; the original injectors had started failing at about 60K miles.... did I want to use Delco and have them go out at 120K miles? I don't think so. I started investigating alternatives and found that Standard Motor Products makes the after market injectors for most of the after-market suppliers------including GM Delco, at their Greenville, South Carolina plant.
I found that AutoZone offered the GP Sorensen, J-41 injector for $59.99 ea. These units are of the new design with three (3) injector orfices instead of one as on the original Delco injectors. As most of the Autozone stores only have one (or none) you will have to either order them over the internet, or call all of the stores in your area and pick up onesey, twosey's.
Check out the internet pricing and if you plan to purchase from your local store take a copy of the internet pricing, because they are $79.99 at the stores, but they will honor the internet pricing.
Hope this helps!
