Hello guys,thanks for having me:)

The reason I'm here is I'd like to install a dash clock and gauge needles from a 03-06 escalade in my custom S-10 pickup.

Here's the clock I'm talking about.

what I'm asking from y'all is a measurement. a pic of a ruler in front of it would be perfect, but if I can have that a simple measurement would be nice.

I plan to put it in the 4x4 delete plate located above the radio next to the HVAC vents. It's a '97 with the square plate. I feel it would add a touch of class that only a Cadillac part could add.

Thanks guys:)

Blazer, I attempted several pics with different measuring devises. Sorry bub but this is the best I can provide at the moment. The O.D. of the chrome bezel is exactly 2 and half inches (2 1/2").

Well bummer seems I have exceeded my picture quota on this site. I guess I cannot help with DIY threads w/pics anymore.

Maybe from an off site website:

I looked at the thread it looks like you like to stay busy although it looks great the s series wasn't the only small truck gm made they also had a gmc version

^lol,I got a couple of them too,you may be able to see one or two in the background of those pic,as well as a couple hombres(Isuzu badged S-series) they're still S-series designated trucks,I think? at least the VIN designates them with a "s"...and a few blazers,Jimmy's,and olds bravadas.

It's cause they are on the same platform that is why the vin has a s in it also I like where you added the caddy steering wheel it gives the truck a touch of luxury
I have seen a olds bravada being used as a cop inceptor(I guess I spelled that right) with lights and siren I always thought that the cops went for the full size SUVs (its still in service I can imagine the miles on it)
I am on here a lot so if you have any audio questions let me know

^yeah,I think so too. I figured out how to install blazer steering wheel controls in a pick up also, and have done it to a few others I own already. I just haven't had time to do it to that truck, lol. The high end feel that Cadillac has mastered is something I wish to obtain in all my trucks. I'm a master tech at a service center, and when I pulled in a DTS,I think it was a DTS? I noticed its dash clock, which inspired me to install one in one of my trucks(its a black stepside cross between a bravada, and a s10 Xtreme).I may also install matching gauge needles as well.

I've got tons of pics of at least a dozen or so trucks Ive rebuilt,I didn't want to whore up this forum with a bunch of non-Cadillac related stuff tho, lol.

id love to install one of those in dash navigation units in one of my newer RDS trucks actually, lol. I read somewhere that they're "platform specific" tho? I know how to reflash the VIN programming portion of the theft prevention in a RDS radio, but I'm a little weary on buying such an expensive head unit, and not be able to use it in my truck...lol.

I hate to break it to you but I think the s platform uses the e&c bus for the radio (the 02 escalades had that before they went to class 2 which is what the nav radio works off of and would need a vin relearn if done right but I don't know if it is possible(yet I have seen a nav unit in a trailblazer

There is two versions of those radios along with two different rpo codes and the internal stuff is different
You can't use a non lux radio with a lux amp as damage can happen to the radio and/or amp

One thing I have noticed is one model had hid low beams and those are great to drive by I think it was the gmc or olds not sure

^the 98-early '02 model S-series had din&1/2 radios that work have a pass word based theftlock that can be activated/deactivated,the late '02&on S-series have double din RDS units that require a vin match/relearn.

Here is a '98-early '02 factory radio used in S-series.(this is the "non-Bose" version).

Here is the factory 6disc changer RDS radio used in late '02 and on S-series.

^besides it being the stock radio in my '04 s10 crewcab I've seen that radio in fullsize platform trucks&MPVs. Seeing that made me believe its possible. BUT from online research(we all know how accurate that can be),Ive read that the Navi units have a seperate smart box/module and/or accompanying hardware that is platform spicific ? Idk?

and yes, there are factory HID headlight assemblies for them. They came on 98-01 GMC Envoy Jimmy's,and some 99-01 GMC Diamond Edition Jimmy's. I have them in the truck I'm customizing.

^sorry its so dusty, lol. I've only recently started tinkering with it again.a majority of my completed trucks end up stored In my garage or my dads metal building.this one was was retired long ago,but I recently took interest again after stumbling into a totalled Xtreme of the same color for donor parts. I haven't even had a battery in it in prolly 4months.lol

The second radio looks like the one in my dads hummer h2 so the nav unit should work but it would need two things a vss feed(in the smaller harness of the radio) and the GPS antenna just remember you need the non lux radio unless you want to redo some of the wiring and add a Bose lux amp
You will enjoy the hid headlights just make sure they are aimed properly to keep them from shining into the eyes of the oncoming traffic
Hint if your driving in a tunnel and the beam path(you can see this on the wall) goes up they are aimed too high mine is just below the "beltline" on other cars

^I grew up in the Cuyahoga County Area, mainly the suburb of Bedford. Before I moved back home I lived in Summit county in Northfield Village.

One of the main reasons I decided to leave was the demographics changed drastically over the years. I watched a beautiful pristeen suburb, turn into a ghetto like run down hood over a 20year span.not somewhere I wanted to raise my own family, that's for sure.:(

Thanks again for the pic btw. I ordered it.with the bezel it wouldn't fit I only have about 2 1/4" of room to work with,so I'm going to modify it a little, lol

since y'all have seen the incomplete exterior of the truck I'm putting it in,here's the interior...

Here's how I purchased the truck.

during renovation..

Here's pretty much how it looks today.I added all power options(locks, windows, mirrors,&keyless)all factory using electronics from a 2door blazer of the same year, and completely changed interior color using parts from several different year model S-series.

since that pic I've swapped airbags to an Oldsmobile, and added a factory foglight switch.pretty much still the same tho. Like I said,I'm chasing that "Cadillac level of luxury" if the'd made a caddy version,it would be one instead of going with the oldsmobile theme, lol.

I tried lurking through this forum, and I can't seem to find a project section? Is there one? The two forums I frequent have them. I'm sure its an easy guess where I normally hang out,but I'm also a member at a GM truck site, that's where my original project thread is located, but its slowed down a lot.unfortunately I never would've gotten an answer on the clock from them, lol.

What do you mean? the old seats? or the new seats? The new seats are heated, power 8way w/memory,and tilt headrests from a '03 Blazer LT.all you gotta do is run power&ground and they're plug&play the original '97 split bench I threw away in the dumpster at work.two hours later some guy with a ragged out c10 took them, lol. Idk what he did with them...haha

I like the seats you have they look more fitting in the truck(no clue why most s series trucks didn't have leather) I have thought if having the stock seats in my car(79 Chrysler cordoba) is more then getting different seats I may explore my options as I would like leather in the car over clothe seats I have thought of doing a full Cadillac treatment to the seats since it has almost as much wood grain as my truck

^crewcabs had a leather option. My '04 crew has factory leather. I think it wasn't an option in most s-series because a combination of them being economy vehicles and most of them have no power options..
