I've got an ignition miss on #6 cylinder.
All plugs and wires were replaced week ago. Ran fine.
Now #6 is missing; tried new plug and wire. NADA
Now #6 shares it's waste spark with #7 (I think it's 7).
Plug seven fires just fine. How can that be?

I saw a YOU TUBE piece awhile ago for testing the ignition coils by disconnecting ALL the ignition wires from the coils and cranking the engine and watching the sparks jump between the coil terminals. As an electronics fellow, I find that a recipe for a blown module.

Re: Ignition concumdrum='96 ETC

the easiest thing to do would be to swap a couple of the coils around -
if the misfire follows the coil - you found the cause -

Replaced the coil and it runs like a Swiss watch.

Still don't understand why one end of the coil worked, but the other end didn't.

The only logical reason that I can come up with is MAYBE the coil was working, but the #6 coil tower was carbon arced and #7 wasn't. :noidea:

Coil shows no signs of carbon tracking, HOWEVER the coil measures open.
A good coil should be around 5,5k.
