Okay, it has been awhile since I needed help but here I am again..

Does the Idler Pulley keep tension on the Serpentine Belt?
If so, does anyone know what is involved in replacing it? Maybe pictures?

The reason I am asking is because I have a new Belt on my 97 Cat and when the car is warmed up and I have all of the electrical on (heater, lights.radio, wipers) and it is raining the belt is slipping enough that the battery is not getting fully charged.. So after the car sits over night the battery is dead but will charge... I do not have this problem unless it is raining and everything else is just as I have stated..

If I replace Idler Pulley any ideas on where to get a good price..

Any help is of course greatly appreciated...

Its a single nut that holds it on there i swapped mine in about 2mins got the pulley from auto zone it was under 20$... loosen nut before you take it off with the belt in tension...

Then pull the tensioner back and slide the belt off... remove pulley, put the new one on and reverse everything... dont worry about tightening the nut until you put the belt back on...

Good Luck.
