Any suggestions for brake pads for a 98 catera?

Any brands come to mind? I have been doing some research and found their are a lot of choices.
It there anything special i need to know befor i change the rotors/pads on the front and rear? Any wierd tools or thing that only catera owners have to deal with?
thanks, now i just need to find the time to replace my pads/rotors before winter hits and get my snow tires on
