i got a 96 deville 4.6 with 142k...i want a chip that improves horsepower and torque and can also maybe increase gas mileage at the sametime ( if that is even possible ).. i heard the "jet prom" chip is good and adds about 25 hp and 20 ft lbs, does anyone know of any that could add more gas mileage, horsepower, torque etc. and prices and availabilty? thank you all

Sorry, ain't gonna happen. 96+ cars use the OBD/2 diagnostics and emission control systems, nearly all engine and combustion parameters controlled by a pre-programmed chip in the PCM system. So far as we all know, there has not been a published, verified hack that allows you to override it with an aftermarket chip.

As our esteemed erstwhile engineer-in-residence used to say, "You've got an engine developing over 1HP/CU all ready. Apart from opening the exhaust a bit, and perhaps porting the intake manifold, all the low hanging fruit has been picked."
