I have an 02 with the perforated leather in shale.
would like to put some new skins on the fronts.
Many places to go,just looking for a decent quality that wont break the bank,(after all how much long will this old gal last)
Theres about 3 or 4 places in Texas alone, with prices all over the place between them.
I dont really want synthetic leather, just like the OEMs is fine.

I replaced my lower front seat covers a few months ago. I bought leather shale of eBay somewhere in the tune of $250.00. The fit and quality are just like OEM.

The only difference is that i have heated and cooled seats. The replacements only have 1 panel thats perforated, OEM has 2 panels for the AC seats.

The other place to check is leatherseats.com. You can get OEM style seat covers for all 3 rows for $1200. Going with The Seat Shop, you will spend only a few hundred less just doing the front row buckets. My driver's seat needs the seat foam replaced, and the heating elements as well.

Here's a breakdown of the research I did 6 months ago (I'm going to remove the foam and seat heaters from the totals...prices may have changed);

Seat Shop Driver's seat only: $470
Seat Shop front two seats: $805
Seat Shop - All seats: $1600
Leather Seats - All seats (perforated leather): $1200

Only downside to Leather Seats is it's all or nothing. You can't buy a single seat like you can at the Seat Shop.

there was one supplier ,I think in Texas, that had both fronts, top and bottom for $300.
I should have book marked it because now I cant find it.
I couldnt tell from the pictures if it was perforated or not and the listing didnt say.
Seems like the seat shop has gone up in price since the last time I called them.....Pssst guys these things are getting long in the tooth, why so much?

At the $300 price tag you mention, my guess is it's all vinyl.

And the materials going into making the seat are the same as they always have been. Leather didn't become cheaper because these seat covers are an old design.

edit: just checked the seat shop website. Going with all vinyl puts the bottom and seat back at $280. Add in the arm rest and the headrest, and it comes to $358.

You have to select the Suburban on their website to have the option for all vinyl.
