my car is at the installers today & tomorrow getting my Alpine gear installed and i miss her already, good thing i have a carpooler to haul my a$$ around for a couple of days. can't wait to hear the new sound system.

also getting doors & rear deck lid dynamatted, may dynamat the whole trunk, will see how it sounds 1st.

unfortunately the new pxe-h650 still hasn't been released yet, so i'm going to get everything installed and they are going to put in a line conditioner for now until i can get the pxe installed.

One my best friends is a regional sales manager for Alpine so i'm getting all the gear for a REALLY good price. The installer is one of his customers, so they are also giving me their employee price for the dynamat, wiring, install labor, etc.

Bottom line is i'm not really allowed to say what my cost is, but it's pretty sweet.

I just wish that the new PXE-H650 was available, it's supposed to be a pretty amazing unit. I was hoping to have it by next week's meet. For now they are just going to install a line conditioner to get the factory output down to preamp level so I can re-amplify it with my Alpines. I'm sure the speakers/amps alone will be a huge improvement, but I won't be able to do any equalization at this point.

yeah, it has a dual spider and is supposed to work well as a free air sub, it's just replacing the factory sub. I didn't want to give up the trunk space (need room for golf clubs) by installing an enclosure, but I may still do that if I'm not happy with the bass output. I still like to listen to loud music (rock, blues, metal) but I'm not into that enormous thumping hip-hop type bass, prefer something nice & tight.
