im trying to reach 700hp.. if i cant do this right, and i mean right, because im so self conscience when it comes to this kind of stuff,,, it has to be almost perfect.. at 500hp no problems,, but when i seem to go over that i have to start changing pulleys to cogs, i use cog belts now,, and trust me this V hauls ass already. but i also found a damn nice deal on a DIABLO, it only has 3200 miles on it & we all know hw fast they are.. 226 is what paperwork says on this one.. so im giving another 3 months after shoot, and then i will make my mind up.

ok mean come on down if i get the diablo, but remember, stock it does 0-60 in just at 3 seconds flat..lol no mods.. and you know me.. :)
i would sell it you mean, but if it wasnt a prototype and i wasnt commited to what is going on, i would.. but when you make an agreement you know how it is, you stick to it, or your name is forever ruined.

i know. dont sell the v. i have also had alot of modded cars over the years. the one thing i learned is you always run into problems. there were many nights i did not sleep lying in bed trying to figure out what the hell is going on so stick to it and it will work out in the end.

Umm...I'm sorry to burst your bubble but a Diablo does not do 0-60 in 3 seconds flat. Unless you're talking like 0-60kph. By the way, what year are you talking about because a 2001 6.0 VT does 0-60 in 3.5 and that's with a professional driver.

Mhaynes, thats close enuff.. sory im not perfect brother.. but i promise to work on it.. ;) it was the last year it was made.. before they went to the murc however you spell it... i could have bought that instead of spending all this cash on the V already.. but like building cars...

why in the hell does everyone have to be or try to be perfect in here... its like some kind of competition going on.... hell i dont care if it is 3 or 3.6 it is fast, and it looks nice, and it is my money to do with what i want to.. thats the really simple part about all of this...

geeesh... im getting sicker and sicker of coming back here.

Blitzer,

Hey don't worry, its a tough burden being perfect and expecting all others to be too.

I know, I tried it for awhile, but it just wasn't working out.....LMAO!!!

Anyway, when you have exhausted your pleasure center with the V, I just want you to know, that I would be willing, and I don't do this for everyone mind you, take your V as a donation to my non-profit org., "I Can't Afford A Really Kool Car Like Blitzers, But Will Be Willing To Grovel For One Fund".

Please keep us in mind at tax time!

Blitz,

Everyone's got different taste in these things, far be it from us to presuppose what makes you happy. A Diablo is an awesome piece of machinery... it is however well known what repeated launches do to clutch, and how much $$$ clutch replacements and services will cost (thousands every year, and tens of thousands every few years). There has been quite alot of success with modifying Porsche Turbos to produce significant HP. Far more affordable alternative to a Lambo. The mention of the Viper is also worthwhile, alot of success with modded cars and lots of support. If your concern is truely putting down massive HP with less hassles, why not look to Merc AMG and their CL65... massive power, repeatable launches, warranty.

i dont know yet.. i might just keep it, i was just frustrated due to it slinging belts off because of high hp.. and wrong tesnioner.. well i got all that fixed, i also got my hands on some cog pulleys, they will b on going tonight.. The i catch crap at the dealer today, because they told me if i let a dyno shop flash my chip to tune it right, they will void my maggie warranty.. what a crock of crap.. they just want to do it themselves and plus if they did the dyno they would have seen all the trrouble that i see in the margin of power grid lines.. looks like a heart attack machine rythym going offf.. they cant tune a go cart, that includes sanding the magneto.. geesh..
the air/fuel ratio is so screwed up it makes me sick. they can take that warranty and shove it up there asses...
now get this,, after i let them have at at LUND, they then want to give me the newest smaller pulley made for more boost, smaller than the 2.75.. they said we can increase your engine boost to 8.5 to 9 due to mods on the engine.. hell, then they raise hell over a re flash? wtf is up with that?

Blitz...I don't quite understand your frustration. I understand how the engineering blunders of GM can hamper someone's take on a car, or how dealerships can knock one's spirits, but the 700hp thing is puzzling.
To make monster power, and 700hp in my book is monster, from a car with 400hp stock is a grand undertaking. Bumping a motor's output 75% is no small task. Asking it to be done reliably makes that sereral times the cost. Spending what you've spent and not reaching your goals must be, needless to say, a let-down. I known many people who've undergone massive projects and shortly rid themselves of their creations...once you've done just about all there is to do, you must move on to keep that creativity going. If you keep at it, and there's bound to be obstacles to overcome, you'll reach your goal. I don't know if 700hp is within the Maggie's abilities, you know that better than most...but there are other ways. You've done a great job being a pioneer for the Uber-V crew, of which I am not a member, and I'm sure your efforts have been appreciated. Don't let an obstacle stop you, think around it...you know what I'm saying.

And for the Diablo...let it go. If you think there are issues modding an LSx, sir...you may as well sign up for therapy now, as there will be untold mental/economical/spiritual punishment for cracking-open a Lambo motor. And keep it quiet, should those Italians catch a whisper that someone is molesting one of their motors, well....have a hidden passport and some offshore funds when they pay you a visit.

When Lambo's most recent designer, after being recently hired, visited the Lambo factory, the head of the engine team asked him if he was the one who was designing the engine cover? Said designer said no, he was the bodywork designer....Engine man said"Yeah, what I say....the engine cover".

Good luck and revel in the fact that you are quite fortunate to have such a decision. Be good.

Thanx Ace, my frustration is those little nickel and dime parts that are screwing up the entire deal.. now of course i do not mean they exactly cost that, but really 12 dollar parts that are suppose to be doing there job where there is no 100 part same part that is, to take its place to make sure that all works in a fluid motion..
tomorrow on the dyno at 9am i am pretty sure it will be tuneable. a car with this technology, and you cant tune, well fine tune it that is due to small problems sux ass.. now i think it will be ok now.. i think the belts will hold this time, and the dyny will go off the chart. those new pulleys makes a big difference.. thanx too moore about reminding me of those.. they are right on the money, they are pushing over 600 rwhp and had to use them as well..
so they understand my troubles being there themselfs at one time.

NOW, if this all fails, motor is out of there, and i have a 427 shrinkwrapped in storage that i will put in there.. yes there goes my warranty.. but i want a V street rod and if i cant do this way, well you betchya i can the other way.. i will not be beat. i will have this car running the times and hp beforew the fat lady sings.

Now my turn at sounding a bit on the smart alecky side!

Dude, what did you think, it would be easy?? LOL!

700 hp is a lofty goal, I'm not so far away with my truck, but its cost me the rest of the racing season now.

My point you ask?

Hot Rods are expensive, and when you are an innovator as yourself, it gets even more so. Thankfully you are in a position to conquer the dream you have, and the desire.

Do what you want, but don't let frustration be your guide, let it be your inspiration!

Hey, you could be like me........lots of desire, knowledge, and ability......but very limited on disposable income.
