This forum has a nice sticky with code info. Which is great, but I do own a scan tool and it tells me the same stuff.

My problem is understanding what that stuff really means.

I am getting a master reset code and a short in the fuel pump circut error.

I saw it someplace that stated what pin to check on the ECM for each code and a brief description on what each code was caused or set by. Now I can't seem to find the darn thread or page.

If anyone can help direct me to that page. In my best Roger Rabbit P-P-P-P-P-LEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

smacks head for not saving the link.
TIA

Would the master Reset be an E52 by any chance? If so, did you disconnect the battery recently?

I need to look up the fuel pump one though. I remember that circut was kinda odd, with redundancy through the oil pressure switch and whatnot.

Ok here are all the codes in order

19 Shorted Fuel Pump Circuit had this one for a long time.

54 Idle Speed Control Problem (I think I accidentally triggered that when I was trying to do the idle learn procedure)

53 Distributor Signal Interrupt --- Never seen this one before

52 Keep Alive Memory reset (yes I had the battery off about 40 miles ago

For reference I am using an Auto X-Ray 240 Scan tool P/N 705-0001-001A

Just an update, the distributor signal error turned out to be, a loose ground on the MSD 6AL box. Only thing holding the wire from completely falling off was the shrink tube I put on all my connections.

I used the scan tool to clear all the codes and made a couple of new ground straps and all seems to be fine now for the moment. I will update you guys and let you know how it goes in a week. I am going to have to replace the O2 sensors in hopes that it fixes the low response times.

Hey Kev, you still around.

The link at the top shows the problem associated with each code. However what I am looking for is a slightly more in depth guide.

I know code 19 is fuel pump circute, but what I am looking for is what PIN on the ECM that code refrences too.

There is something about needing a positve 12v suppley to that pin on the ECM, but for the life of me I can`t find an online refrence to that pin.

P.S. I clreaed the codes and have driving it 200 miles the code 19 came back almost instantly.
