When I turn the steering wheel on my 92 eldorado left and right about 1/8 of a turn (back and forth) I hear a clunk when I turn it left but nothing when I turn it right.

I've checked the tie rods and ball joints and they appear to be fine.

Would the inner tie rod cause this? Would it show up when I jack up the car, grab the wheel on the left and right and try to shake it? When I do that it feels solid.

The car pulls to the left too if that has anything to do with it.

In my case turned out to be the rack and pinion. The whole unite got loose (that due to a previous service when I had it replaced - about one year before). I the last days before it was discovered, the clunk was so loud that my mechanic got scared “Jesus what was that?”. It was occurring mostly when turning from far right to left at low speeds (<5Mph) passing the center position.
