They decided NOT to total my truck, and instead, give me $7,000 to fix the following...
- Blown motor
- Bashed mirror
- Passenger door dent (because of mirror)
- Master unlock button doesn't work
- Flat passenger-front tire
- "Service stability" (i think its because 3 regular and 1 spare tire)
...think that's about it

So as of right now, my Civic, my 24" Hangtyme's, and I guess my Integra are all for sale. I hoped they would total since that's what I was told would be the most-likely of things to happen so I could buy a friends car...but NOOOOO they have to be bitches :bomb:  :mad2: :crying:

After I fix it, you will DEFINITLY see this thing for sale also.

I love it, but I hate it.

She's a sweet truck, very nice, very comfortable, sexy looking, gets attention (esp. for my job)......but eats gas, big, hard to park down here in some spots, and $718 a month is getting to be a bit much.

So when the time comes, I just want to sell it for whatever I owe, or close to that.

As I said in your other post I did not think they would total it for an engine and some other minor things, 7k damage on a truck that costs 50k is nothing. You should have no problem getting it fixed for 7k. :)

why'd you think it'd be totalled if it was only $7000 in damage??
Dealer told me it would most likely be totalled considering it was hurricane flooding that caused it. She told me that most companies total it because of unseen problems that may exist.

Calling up some places tomorrow, gonna try and locate/get pricing on a 6.0L Escalade motor and either I and/or a friend will put it in and I'm gonna continue my plans of getting rid of the truck.

You said the truck was only in 6" to 8" of water, any insurance adjustor would be able to see if it was a flood car/truck, that is the reason you were only offered 7k most likely. :)

Went to the bar to play pool last night, saw another friend who works at the same dealer. He was even saying they should've totalled it. "You shot a rod through the block, and that thing is done for. The engine will cost 7k or more to replace!"

He was also saying they totalled 2 brand new '05 Cadillac's (could've sworn he said DTS) with only 6,000 miles on them! All because they had the same problem I have.

Oh well, guess I should shut up and just be thankful they decided to give me any money at all :D Time to break out the Miami/Dade phonebook and start calling some boneyards...

Dude, 7g's is plenty! Man, I could get you an 05' 6.0 liter motor with 2,000 miles for $3.5k. It will cost a few g's max to fix the rest, and then you got the rest to put new 24" rims, tires, and grill on your ride which raise the value of your ride. Nothing to even complain about here... if anything, I would take the money and quickly fix it.
