Thunderbird is my email client. When an email has a link directing to a net site, TB allows you to view and interact with that site within TB...no need to go to your browser. Furthermore, when opening a link within TB, TB will ask for an action on cookies that come with opening the site. Most of the time, though, I have TB email links defaulted to the browser. However, I just tried to open a link directed to this forum within TB. "Tried," I said, because there were so many cookies (I was denying acceptance of each one, but more just kept coming - maybe 20-30+,) that I finally tried to delete the email and close TB, but couldn't as the cookie popups wouldn't let me. So, I finally had to use Process Explorer to kill the TB process.
I'm no computer maven and would appreciate if someone can confirm my observation that this forum goes bananas over cookies...
