I just bought a 97 deville in Nov. and the trunk leaked to the point of rusty jack, mold on the carpet, and a pool with a spare tire in it. With a hose and time, I found the leak to be in the upper right hand corner under the trunk gasket. There is a weld in there if you lift up your gasket, I put a little sealant in the weld, removed all my carpets in the trunk for a hose down and dry, and put wd-40 on the jack. p.s. there should be a weld on both sides of the trunk, check it out
