You sure the position just didn't get moved from your view? Did you try that?

Just trying to rule out the easy stuff first...

 

Was it accidentally turned off? The round knob on the left of the steering wheel surrounded by the 4 rocker switches. Push it so it comes out in its out position. Then give it an extra tug so it comes out a bit more and locks into a slightly further out position. Then twist the knob. This is how you adjust the brightness of the HUD and how you turn it on and off.

Check the fuse

If not, they don't last forever. I've seen them have to be replaced on these forums. Not unheard of.

A lot! It's several hundred dollars to purchase from the dealer (you may be able to find a used one at a wrecker but even these can be expensive). That's the easy part. The entire instrument panel carrier has to come out to replace it. This translates to many hours of work. Ask me how I know!

I would have some other diagnostics done first. If the control is bad, it may appear to be non-functional. Don't jump straight to the HUD projector. With a Tech2 there are some diagnostics a dealer can perform to check the projector.

 

Those HUD's are addictive, aren't they! That's my number one prerequisite on my next STS.
