I've gone to their website and taken a look at what is available. It seems as if most of what I want is available and at a good price. I also would be able to flash back to stock when needed. Any experience with this software?
Thanks,

I have used HP in several instances...

1. I took a BIG CAMMED (LG Motorsports G5X3) in an 04 GTO from...won't run at all to will idle in traffic for hours without setting a check engine light. I also took tuned with a Wideband on the Dyno to extract 25 more WOT HP.

2. I have added a few degrees of timing, CAGS deleted, fans lowered, etc, etc on my friend's 01 Z06.

I recently bought he license for the 05 V and downloaded v2.0

Overall I like the scanning and tuning functionality just fine.

Can one save the stock tune and return to stock for dealer visits?

Not certain about HPTuners, but EFILive allows this - so I'd imagine HP does as well. Flashes take less than a minute normally...but I'd go EFILive if I were you :lildevil:

Wild,
I'd like to do EFILive, as that seems to be the most complete system...but it's a couple hundred more. Also, there seems to be a real support forum for HPTuners...as I have yet to dive into tuning, I'll need it.

I do appreciate your comment - really I do.

EFILive does have a fantastic support network. For our cases here - it starts with StealthV and extends to dozens or more of V owners. Try the forums at www.efilive.com.

Does it cost more?

Yep.

Does it allow you to do more?

IMHO - yep. I find it somewhat challenging yet intuitive. I've yet to find something that I wanted to do with it (and that I believed would be an actual drivability benefit) that I couldn't. It is some trick software - with a bunch of out of the box thinkers using and designing it. This is not for everybody, however.

Because I prefer Cadillacs over Pontiacs, Heidelbergs over Komoris, and Guiness over Budweiser, it is for me. I'm not wealthy - trust me. I just understand value in a more intimate manner than some others do.

HPTuners makes a fine product. It is fantastic and you will not be disappointed, at least that's what my somewhat limited experience tells me.

Daewoo makes a fine product as well. I use one daily to lift paper from trucks...but I'd never tune my V with it :D

WW off the beer chest and off to bed...
