I just purchased a '76 Eldoado with an original clock that actually works.
This clock shows time with 5 rotating dials from left to right--2 for hours, 2 for minutes and the one on the right for seconds.
Does anybody know of a quick way of setting the clock? If you turn the adjusting nob, it adjusts each dial one at a time in ascending sequence, and takes forever to adjust. Is there a way I can adjust each dial inividually without having the knob turning each of the lower dials first? Thanks.

I'm sure there is a way, but it would probably involve much more time and work than setting it with the dial.

The only analog dashboard clocks that i have ever known to work for an extended period of time were in mopars... i wouldnt even bother!

my clock works, and it does take me forever to adjust it, dam daylight savings time!

oh, i just realized. the clock stops when the car's battery is disconnected, take the + off the battery until its the same time as your clock then put it back on!

Hello...

Sometimes buttons/knobs/dials/wheels that are used to adjust things have 2 "detent" positions.
Try pushing in or pulling out on the button/knob/dial/wheel when you adjust the clock.

Post back what you discover.

my 78 eldo clock still works fine
dash board is not cracked
however steering wheel is cracked
my clock adjustment works by
pulling out on the lever/knob and twisting it
minutes adjust first to the next hour and so on
does not go in reverse (9:30 to 8:30)
to keep it working right always advance to the next hour
takes me about 15 seconds to turn the lever/knob to adjsut it for day light savings time each year. as you have to pull and twist at the same time
(works like the old alarm clocks did)
have to scroll thru sixty minutes to turn to the next hour
