I am in the process of cleaning EGR for seville SLS 96. After I removed electrical connecor and bolts, I see a clip hooked to fuel rail that needs to be raised before I can take EGR valve out. I think it needs to be raised by an inch or so. Can you please give me an idea how to raise fuel rail. Does this mean that I have to remove plenium and fuel injector as well. Any ideas please?

Thanks
John

No way around, you have to lift the fuel line of the injectors. Maybe you can get away just by lifting the part on top of the rear bank. But is just 2 more screw away from removing the entire fuel line. I have to replace my EGR these days; the new one is laying here catching dust.

I dont see any screws on the fuel rail. The only screws are the one holding beauty cover. Does this mean that I just pull out the fuel rail alongwith injectors. Will it create any vacum leak when I put it push it back. I will appreciate some details please if there are any more screws that I need to remove.

Thanks
John

Ah, we had this discussion few months ago… :bigroll:
The fuel line is held by the same lugs that holt the beauty cover, but there are 2 set of nuts, the bottom one holds the fuel line brackets and then on top you put the beauty cover and the nuts holding-it.
See this picture, the nuts holding the fuel line are highlighted green.
You can not secure the fuel line with some plastic nuts (like the ones for the beauty cover), there is no clip holding the line on the injectors like with the nylon fuel lines. No need to disconnect the harness from injectors nor the incoming lines, all you need is just to lift it a little bit to clear the EGR. Don’t force the incoming nylon line, they kink VERY EASY!
