I bought some really nice rims for my caddie and the only problem is the back rubs really bad. The front fit fine but the back hit the fender if I can get the back lifted 2 or 3 inches it would ride perfect. any ideas on how to lift it with the automatic leveling system

you shouldn't need to alter the ride-height
to fit donk wheels and rubberband tires -
providing the overall diameter and width of the tire
is the same as the original -

either the wheel offset is wrong -
or the wheels are too wide -
or the tires are too big -

-----------------------

the closest fit would be a 225/35/20 -

They're to wide they hit the fender. if I could adjust the ride height up 2 inches it would be fine

How much does it hit the fender? You could always try to roll the fender lip on the inside. Had to do it on my friends wrx cause his 245s rubbed in the back.

You could get an air line kit for your rear struts and jack up the rear 70's style. You will probably see a lot of people smiling as you drive by.

now you can see WHY some of us
"pick" on you kids that want to kustomize -
but don't care if it's done the right way or not -

rig anything - any way - just to get it done -

----------------

to answer your question -
get a Monroe AK18 manual fill kit -

the RIGHT way -
is get the correct wheels and tire size -
and not have to raise it at all -

:yeah:

"Right" is the rear being at the correct ride height. Lifted, the ride, handling, and alignment (both front and rear) will all be off. There is no correct answer without the correct rims/tires. Any other way is just half assed/ghetto. Not what you want to hear, I know, but that's the reality of it.

So would 20 inch rims that weren't so wide fit? The stock width is 204 and these are 245

That's tire size, not rim size. And yes, that's too wide. Rim offset is important as well, not just width.

Ball on a budget, I love it hahah

Those manual fills sound good but would be pricey to put on
=============================

I suppose "pricy" is a relative term -
but - $12.28 with free shipping - doesn't seem too "pricy" to me -

=============================
changing tire/wheel sizes is a SCIENCE - not a guessing game -

the original tire size is 205/70/15 -

when done correctly - you can run 20's -
without ANY mods -
without ANY rubbing -
and the speedo will remain accurate -

the ride WILL suck - THAT you have to live with -

the CORRECT size tire would be 225/35/20 -
the CORRECT 20" wheel would be 8" to 8.5" wide -
you will need to measure and match the offset -

Thanks for the link basscat, really thinking about just hooking up the aftermarket filler hose, it'll just hook up to the stock air shock? And I'll measure the rim tomorrow, if it was 8.5 width I can get the right size tire and everything will be good? Sorry I don't Kno much about putting rooms on a Lac but now is a perfect time to learn
