I've installed CAI's before so this should be easy but I just can't disconnect that damn thing...I'm a little frustrated in case you can't tell lol. Any help would be greatttt!!

On the side of the plug is a piece of plastic you need to push in and then pull and the wiring comes right off. I just did this around 30 minutes ago when I removed my volant.

Yeah, it is a pain, but you just squeeze the release tab and then give it a tug. Sometimes there is a light gray piece in there you have to pull out first, it is called a CPA.

I'll try to post one later, it sounds like you are fighting the CPA.
I'll try to find an '07 CTS in the shop if I can.
Someone bump this sometime today.

On a 3.2 its much easier. On our cars, you simply grab the base of the MAF connector, slide it about 1/4" inboard, and the entire connector pulls very easily straight up. I wonder why they changed the design for the 2.8 and 3.6's?

Anyone yet?? I tried it again today and couldn't get it...just that part, once I get that the rest of the install will be a breeze for me. If anyone could post a pic or something soon, that would be great, maybe I could get it done before dark. Thanks again for the responses guys.

I didn't have an '07 today, I'll try again tomorrow.
No one in my immediate vicinity had one either, I did watch.

A CPA is a locking device, it stands for "connector position assurance" I think.
It is basically a tab that interferes with the the release of whatever holds the connector together. On a connector like that it will be a light gray piece of plastic with a hook in the middle. You just have to pry it up out of the groove so that you can squeeze the tab to release the connector.

I looked at some new DTS yesterday but didn't see any. I'll watch for a CTS today and try to snap a photo.

Okkkk nevermind, I finally figured it out!!! Yay, the rest of the install was easy minus the fact that I couldn't get the "power steering bolt" to even budge, but I found out a way around it. I love the sound, throaty but not ricey at all. Much more noticeable low end than high end rpm's but hey, I'll take what I can get. Thanks again for everyones help with finding that tab!! :) And the modding has begun...
