I know that Arnott sells the Bilstein replacement front and rears but they are asking close to 400 bucks for just the front struts which consist of 2 bilsteins and the bypasses. They're making a killing in profits as I can get the bilsteins for 75-90 bucks each. I'm certainly not going to be "pimped" from my hard earned money.

I have asked Arnott if I could buy the sensors by themselves but they said no.

So how would I be able to make my own bypass or is there something else that can do this? I think I read something years ago in the 02-06 Escalades that had something like this.

Also for the rear shocks, I see that the Arnott replacements have a little nipple whereas the Bilstein HD's for a regular tahoe don't. So the Arnott ones still have air through them but how is this controlled? The height sensor has been bypassed. Is it possible that I could just bypass the air and electrical stuff so I could just run a normal monotube shock?

This summer, I would like to get rid of my 08 Ram that has 5100 bilsteins all around and just use my Escalade for all my towing work with the way gas is right now. My Escalade with Bilstein 5100's in the rear and HD's in the front with Michelin M/S2s should make a really good highway cruiser. Goal is that I don't have and errors in my DIC.

bump from dead. would love to know this as i am attempting to retain rear air ride, but am deleting front variable dampening, so my sensors wont be connected to anything

so therefore the fuse that disables both front shocks and rear air (RTD) cant be pulled, as i need rear air

There is a ohm reading on my arnott shocks. I will look when i get the car back from the shop and let you know what the ohm reading is. If this works out I would do the front of my car with bilsteins or monroe reflex(have these on my avalanche and i like them).

I changed my shocks on my avalanche with the monroe reflexes and i can tell you it is night and day how the truck behaves. I don't have the sways my escalade has.

I did not get to see my esv tonight maybe tomorrow. But i seem to remember it's 2.5 ohms. Try and get some from radio shack and try it. please let us know if it works out.

so how would i wire this resistance into the circuit. put the resistor upstream of the connector that normally goes on the strut? willing to try it with yalls input. seems like itd be harder to do right since there isnt a complete circuit with no strut there.

so im totally ready to give this a shot, and be a guinea pig for the community to find a way to do this without having to be gouged by companies selling kits with bilsteins for twice the normal cost. doesnt matter if it messes the system up or causes problems; willing to do it.

so i can order some 22 and 25 ohm resistors or get them locally, but need to know your guy's input on how to wire it up and how to connect to the shock connectors coming from the vehicle

Did any one ever figure how to make the resistor. Are there any threads that tell how to do it?
I just received a shipment on a full passive conversation kit. Replaced front and rear, even comes with resistors. Ill report back on how it rides and if the warning messages disappear. It's a Monroe brand so fitment shouldn't be a issue.

Did you get this to work and what was the process? I'm having the same issue and the car has a governor now at 80 MPH. Please let me know if it was the 22 or 25 ohm resistor and was there anything else that had to be completed to remove that warning? Thank you.

i used 100w 2 ohm resistors and they work. I also sold some 25w 3.9ohm resistors to a guy i know and he didnt complain. I think anything between 2 and 4 ohm and over 25watts is good. Biggest thing is making a proper connection. They are meant to be soldered on or they need a weatherproof connection like shrink tube or push in connectors.

another topic you can read on it.
