How to Brighten an '08 DTS Radio Display

My '08 DTS standard radio display is impossible to see in the daytime. The display is a purplish color, I think it is LCD. Turning the instrument light knob does not help. My dealer does not help so here I am requesting your help. I just want to see the radio station and digital clock display if it is bright out.

Thanks in advance!

retinol deficiency. 8,000 IU / day

does turning on the lights make it dimmer? are all other DTSs the same?
Turning on the lights in the daytime does not make it brighter.

That's normal. Turning on the lights in the daytime would make the display dimmer (darker), not brighter.

can u tell the difference when you tell them on? the display should get darker.

If you can't tell the difference, then maybe the photocell thinks it's always night time.
Yes, it does and the display can be changed with the dash light intensity knob. However I still cant see the display in strong sunlight or even bright shade. There must be an answer?
have you looked at other cars like yours? Is yours dimmer or u think they're all this way?
I dont know but I find it hard to believe there is no way to control the back light or display brightness by a menu command or a button combination or other "secret way" to adjust the display. Does anyone else have this problem?
Ok well you should find out what other's DTSs are like. If you've been to the dealer on this issue, you can certainly ask to look at other DTSs.

If you're still unable to see, then the issue is the operator, not the car. And nothing could be done to correct that. On nav screens it's even more difficult to see the info on a bright day.
