How do you remove the inner tie rod on a '94 STS

Hi All,
I need to change the inner tie rod on my '94 STS, (driver's size), I took the tie rod end off, and the boot, and pushed the plastic sleeve off the joint, and it looks like the factory has crimped the tie rod so it can't be unscrewed.

Do I need to remove the whole rack from the car to chage the rod?
Will I have to cut the crimps off?
what size nut is the nuts holding the rack onto the cradle?
