Re: Help with struts?
Okay to clear up for all that dont understand :thepan: there are no factory options that allow you to pick your suspension, so if u bought a base deville or DHS (Which says deville on trunk lid or DHS) u have a basic passive suspension system, if u bought a DTS (It will say DTS on the trunk lid and it is the only model with a floor shifter instead of a column shifter like the base deville and DHS models) then u have whats called CVRSS eletronic suspension (The way it works is not important) now theres a third part that alot of people get confused about but have noting to so with the suspension is the eletronic load leveling system all it is is a compressor that pumps air into the rear shocks to keep the rear of the car at a level height, there are some rear shocks that are not compatible with the load leveling system. monroe makes the best replacements for the base deville, and DHS, now for the electronic CVRSS DTS shocks and struts the ACDELCO ones are the best and one of only two replacement choices as monroe makes them aswell but about the same price ether way now there is a third option u can bypass the CVRSS system with passive monroe shocks and resistors so u dont trip the DIC and speed limitor but that has already been discussed in a bunch of threads and there are a few companys that sell passive shocks with the resistors already installed (Suncore & Arnott are two of them) but they are not eletronic there passive with the wires attached to fool the computer (whew)
