The base Deville and DHS have passive suspension, no CVRSS, no electronic shocks or struts.

You start a new thread by clicking the light blue "Post New Thread" icon, at the top right of the FWD Deville/Fleetwood page.

Re: Help with struts?

It is very easy they either have a plug on the top of it but if have a regular deville you have the regular ones.

Or the side of it

actually - the answer is easier than that -

the DTS model Deville is the only one with electronic suspension -

This is going to sound sarcastic but it's sincere. Sell the car asap or it will kill you. It only gets 20 times worse from here. You need a base model low end sedan.

Re: Help with struts?

Okay to clear up for all that dont understand :thepan: there are no factory options that allow you to pick your suspension, so if u bought a base deville or DHS (Which says deville on trunk lid or DHS) u have a basic passive suspension system, if u bought a DTS (It will say DTS on the trunk lid and it is the only model with a floor shifter instead of a column shifter like the base deville and DHS models) then u have whats called CVRSS eletronic suspension (The way it works is not important) now theres a third part that alot of people get confused about but have noting to so with the suspension is the eletronic load leveling system all it is is a compressor that pumps air into the rear shocks to keep the rear of the car at a level height, there are some rear shocks that are not compatible with the load leveling system. monroe makes the best replacements for the base deville, and DHS, now for the electronic CVRSS DTS shocks and struts the ACDELCO ones are the best and one of only two replacement choices as monroe makes them aswell but about the same price ether way now there is a third option u can bypass the CVRSS system with passive monroe shocks and resistors so u dont trip the DIC and speed limitor but that has already been discussed in a bunch of threads and there are a few companys that sell passive shocks with the resistors already installed (Suncore & Arnott are two of them) but they are not eletronic there passive with the wires attached to fool the computer (whew)

Re: How do i find out if my front struts are electric???.....help!!!!!!!!

Wrong forum. This has nothing to do with site registration problems. Please read the forum titles to learn what is supposed to be posted there. Moved to Deville.

ALL Devilles have Electronic Level Control - rear air-shocks -

your BASE Deville does NOT have electronic suspension -
