Attention all Houston and surrounding area Vs --

This Thursday, "Battle of the Supercars" on the speed channel, is going to be airing the footage shot of Fastlane performance (a local speed shop here in Houston) and Autograf (another local speed shop owned by a good friend of mine) and their respective cars that competed in the Texas Mile this last march. They took two 1000+ HP cars (supercharged for the camaro, and twin turbo for the mustang), and pit them against each other in several categories. The footage is airing this Thursday evening.

Here is the invitation:

The email i got said this:
During the March 2010 Texas Mile event, the Speed Channel shot an episode of 'Battle of the Supercars' featuring two cars with some serious American muscle. The Shelby GT500 built by Autograf, and the Chevy Camaro built by Fastlane. This show will premiere this Thursday, and we want you to come watch it with us!

Thursday July 29th
Stats Sports Bar and Grill

10850 Louetta Roadhttp://maps.google.com/
Houston, TX 77070

The party begins at 8pm, and the show airs at 9pm. Some complimentary food and drinks will be provided, so come early!
So i will be going, and thought perhaps a few of us could get there an hour or so before it starts, so we can get a few drinks, and then hang out with the other car buffs.

Fastlane performance has done work on several Vs, and it seems they always have a Gen II CTS-V in their shop. Both are highly reputable shops in our area, so at the very least it wouldn't hurt getting to know some of the owners and staff of these shops (plus the free food and drinks wouldn't hurt either).

Anyone in? It's been a good 6 months since our last meet...

I'd be pushing it to get that way much earlier than 8, but let's plan on it, and I'll try like heck to be out early. Is your "direct line" in your email your cell? I'll text you tomm afternoon w/ status.

Crappy cell phone pic but you get the idea. Matt is too cool for parking lights. I'm 3rd from right. Good seeing everybody.

hey guys, sorry for the delay in responding. Great to see everyone out there. We had 6 Vs, which is a record for Houston meets (and this was pretty last-minute... i'm surprised so many showed).

Here's a video i took on my camera of the 6 Vs:

Too bad I missed this one. Looks like you had a decent showing. I see there are some new or unfamiliar names in the thread. We will have to have another meet in the near future. It still doesnt look like we were able to brake that 5 car problem we always seem to have.

As for me I just got back into town from an 8 month V Hiatus. Got in the car and it fired right up like I had driven it the day before. I was actually quite suprised. No hesitation turning over and no cloud of black smoke or anything. I already started playing around with the car. I put on some SS Brake Lines I had still sitting in the Garage from last year. To be honest no noticable difference, that could also be due the fact that I have forgotten how the factory V lines felt after 8 months of driving a Korean Ass Hyundai.

Anyway its good to be home and I will be looking forward to the next meet.
