I just had my SRX towed to the dealership. It would not crank, the keys were locked in the ignition, and every time I tried to start it the doors would all lock. Turns out just to be a dead battery, which they recharged at no cost.
The battery has been discharged about 5 times in the year and a half since I bought it, and it has always been when I don't drive it for several days, and leave the radar detector on. I guess I'm too senile to remember to turn it off. It is plugged into the rear power outlet and routed through the door trim to the dash. Unfortunately, the power outlet is hot even with the ignition off, hence the dead battery.
Does anyone know of a solution where the power outlets can be changed to be hot only when the ignition is on? My service rep did not.
